T = 0 , time to go so a few thank yous..
t = o. Thats it. Having been away from the blog for nearly a month, as i really didnt have much Canadian to share with anyone, I now find that this time tomorrow i shall (almost) be there.. where have I been for the last 3 weeks? well in the pub mainly, but it has been a fantastic time..
Before the off, just a few thank yous to a few people who have made the last month really memorable, and people with out whom i wouldnt be doing this.
Thanks to Rob Jones for my funniest day in audit drafting accounts. Funny how £3m mistakes can bring a smile to your face. I will not miss that client! Thanks too for his understanding nature following drayton manor, when i could hardly talk, let alone work!
Thanks to Rot Weiss Essen for providing me with a football top that got me into a random chat with Dietmar for several hours, and thanks to Gary for looking after him for the night.
Thanks to my German crew, Ed, Laura, Ruth, Claire for the fantastic meal and German football top. As with the RWE one, I am sure it will get me talking to people in Toronto!
Thanks to the cathsoc committee for the dinner (8 june), to a wonderful speaker who spoke about the value of giving thanks and appreciating the good we have in our lives, and to Matt Slater who sobered me up with one line: "Arent you at work tomorrow?" No more whisky chasers that night!
Thanks to Marie, who made me feel 16 again and made life seem more exciting and attractive.
Thanks to Nicola for a great wedding, and for giving my mum the chance to enjoy herself with her family.
Thanks to J Nicholas for dinner, conversation and for being a source of wisdom constantly.
Thanks to the NX crew, Dave, Mark, Mark, Sarah and Hels. In particular Hels, for introducing me to this, for making me think about things a bit differently, and for coming to see me on my last day in the office.
Thanks to Jo Mayer for the chinese, the wine and the wisdom. Hope your wedding goes as well as you deserve.
Real thanks to all the All bar one buys on my leaving night. Too many to mention, but i really appreciated the effort of all of you to stay out. Thanks to Dave Anderson and Amanda for getting me home (Dave, the saturday morning should be a lesson not to go 4 weeks without again!) to both of you for leaving me safe (and stealing the beds, good work!) and Amanda, a special mention for doing all my packing.
Thanks to all the D&T Stamford guys for all coming out, i hope you all realise (and especially Richard) that i wouldnt be here without your input.
Thanks to Max for giving my car a good home! Yes, the car is gone. You'll all miss it!
Finally, the real thanks. The trip wouldnt be going ahead without Mr Hall, Mr Raine and Ms Groves in Bham, and many people in Canada. Thanks to you, for putting up with my nagging, and for giving me the chance of a lifetime.
Thanks too to mum and dad for acting as storage til next year. Next stop Toronto. Talk to you from there!
